Do they supply the students their own tools or boyt for school ?

Honest opinion of someone who just finished the first 4 courses at MMI Orlando....The school way over charges for what youre getting, each classroom only gets 1 instructor and they need at least 2, the equipment is old, often broken, and you will at times be tested on things when its the very first time youve touched the part. They over utilize and enforce the watching of online videos so the instructors dont have to teach as much, and this is only since the COVID times, but they maintain them as mandatory homework. At least 2 of the 4 classes ive done so far (3 weeks each) could have been done in half the time, but the instructors love just babbling and talking about anything and everything other than the subject of the day. If youre going to pay over 30k for a year, its insulting to know half that time is wasted....On a good note, you almost cannot fail. Its super super easy, and I watched guys get 50s and 60s on the quizzes (2 per class) and they still passed because 80% of your grade is based on the hands on assessments and in class work (the same things just done in different weeks). If you dont mind wasting a good bit of time, and dont find that insulting or a waste of your money, it can be a great time! I had two great instructors, one good instructor, and one awful instructor, so its a crap shoot. I loved the hands on stuff, the academics are fine, but dont expect the instructors to adequately prepare you....mainly because they know its not that important. The other guys youre in class with make it fun, and there is plenty to learn and enjoy, but they should consider a massive program change over to expedite the classes.

Can you go to trade school with a certification of completion instead of the hs diploma?

Dont matter how skilled you are if pay is not good enough.. it aint worth it. And mechanic/ auto tech pay especially flat rate... sucks..!!! Even worse with warranty jobs which is not you fault to begin with. Imagine taking whole engine out, transferring covers, oil pan, plugs, coils, brakets, mounts, harness, head & gaskets. Putting em all back together , topping up fluids and refrigerants, test drive, paper work and you get paid for 6hrsor so..on warranty & 14 or so retail which is under 200 & 400$. Same time you could be a plumber / electrician spend waaaayy less on tools ,way less to learn.., install a shower / switch board and make more than that.!!! Passion wont pay you bills hommiee..

Learning how to fix my own car now and in the future will not only help save money but also be a fun hobby.

Too bad this commercial is lacking lots of information. Information like working your way up to be a master tech for ten years and then throw you to the curb when you get health issues. It also lacks true leadership and honesty.

This didn't age well. Austin quit after being at UTI for only 6 weeks because she didn't want her name attached to such a rip off garbage program. As a current student, I highly advise anyone considering this school to go to AIM in Tempe.

Do not be an auto tech. Do better with your life. And these schools don’t teach much of anything they just want your money. I have 25 years experience and left the industry. Please take my advice and do something better with your life.

No idea how you can have a trade school that only has 3 hours of total lab time every week just feeding ppl information with books and sitting down when the job is 95% hands on but 5% paper work. It 100% explains why the school is supper clean barley have students doing actual live work. When you go to a good school that does trades its usually filthy because of the students doing live work all the time during sessions make sure as a student you go to the school during a session dont do open house check out how it is during the day talk the teachers test there knowledge ask how long they been there ask if they are still in trade you want someone a teacher and tradesman.
